Joseph "Joe" John Spanier , 70, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Glenside, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, PA.

He was the loving husband of Gertrude "Trudy" E. (Hoffmann) Spanier for 38 years. Joe was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Joseph John Spanier and the late Mary Claire (Murray) Spanier.

He graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote, PA, class of 1971. Joe later graduated from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA, class of 1975 with a Bachelor's degree in Science.

Joe worked as a manager for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board serving the Montgomery County area. He then worked as a scientist for theformer Rohm and Haas (now known as Dow Chemical) in Spring House, PA for 34 years, until retiring in 2014.

Joe was a former member of Bucks County Ski Club in Doylestown, PA. He served as a courtesy ski patroller and volunteer at the Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Macungie, PA. Joe was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Hatfield, PA.

He truly enjoyed fishing and boating in Ocean City, MD. Joe loved skiing with his family. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the EAGLES.

Joe was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was a hardworking, honest, generous man who had a dry sense of humor.

In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his son, Joseph John Spanier & wife, Brooke of Perkiomenville, PA; his daughter, Tierney S. Tumelty & husband, Robert of Phoenixville, PA; his granddaughter, Camille E. Spanier of Perkiomenville, PA; his grandson, Declan J. Spanier of Perkiomenville, PA; and his sister, Loretta Spanier of Blue Bell, PA.

The family will receive friends and family on November 15, 2024 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Bay Pony Inn, 508 Old Skippack Rd, Lederach, PA 19450.
