Joy Kathleen (Kulp) Trumbore , 96, of Souderton, PA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Lutheran Community at Telford.
She was the loving wife of the late Henry A. Trumbore for 31 years. Joy was born in Souderton, PA to the late George F. Kulp and the late Sadie Ellen (Wimmer) Kulp.
She graduated from Souderton Area High School, class of 1944. Joy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was a life member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Joy volunteered at the Senior Adult Activity Center (now known as Generations of Indian Valley) in Souderton.
She was an avid tennis player and played into her late 80's. In her high school years, Joy played basketball and softball. Joy enjoyed playing Pinochle, vegetable gardening, quoits, and listening to classical music. She was a big Phillies fan and watched golf and the EAGLES. Joy loved getting together with her high school classmates for the last six decades.
She was a hardworking, independent, straight forward lady who told it how it was and had a good sense of humor.
Joy is survived by her five children: Connie L. Fly & husband, Larry of Telford, PA, Tom K. Trumbore & wife, Donna of Souderton, PA, Todd Trumbore & companion, Laura Hirth of Harleysville, PA, Kim D. Coates of Washington, NJ, Ted N. Trumbore of Gilbertsville, PA; her nine grandchildren – Tara, Greg, Shannon, Shelley, Christopher, Michael, Brianna, Cooper, & Nicholas; and her 12 great-grandchildren – Caden, Ellison, Oliver, Thomas Shepherd, Emory, Turner, O'Neill, Camryn, Megan, Ashley, Brady, & Blair.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Malvene Shelly and her two brothers, George & Robert Kulp.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date and time. Please check back in the beginning of October for details.
A private inurnment will take place at the Souderton Mennonite Church Cemetery.
