Obituary

Justin David Neal , 38, of Coatsville, PA; formerly of Harleysville, PA & Pottstown, PA passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 22, 2021 at his residence.

He was born at Grandview Hospital in Sellersville, PA to Suzannah Jean Davidson of Weston, MA and Leonard P. Schwenk of Allentown, PA.

Justin graduated from Souderton Area High School, class of 2000. He graduated from Montgomery County Community College where he received an Associate's degree in both Information Technology and Psychology. After college, in 2004, Justin attended boot camp in Great Lakes, IL where he served in a leadership capacity as Recruit Chief Petty Officer (RPOC).  He served as a Communications Officer in the United States Navy from 2004 to 2008 during The Iraq War. Justin, after receiving specialized training, was a member of the Special Weapons Combat Crew (SWCC) and the Non-compliant Boarding Search and Seizure, (VSS) program.  After being honorably discharged, he continued his education at Temple University for two more years, studying Psychology.

Justin was employed as a Load Dispatcher/Planner for Venezia Transport in Pottstown. More recently, he was employed in management at JDog Hauling in Lancaster, PA and Greenlawn Fertilizing in West Chester. He was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sumneytown, PA where he was baptized and confirmed.

Justin was a born leader, a trusted friend and animal lover, he was also known for his upbeat nature, great sense of humor, and strong work ethic. He excelled at chess, loved music, reading, playing cards, especially pinochle & poker, and was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

In addition to mother and father, Justin is survived by his son, Jacob Wallace Neal of Pottstown;  his brother, Andrew Keith Neal of Worcester, MA; his stepbrother, Michael J. Alles of Philadelphia; his uncle and aunt, Robert F. & Lynn M. Kurz of Cape May, NJ; and his cousins, Michael, Jean, Jeffrey, Sarah and Carlie. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dr. Wallace L. Davidson and Jean (Binder) Davidson of Montgomery County.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 East Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964. This will be followed by an inurnment and full military burial service at his final resting place:  Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA.
