Kathleen C.
Brown
Sep 21, 1925 — Oct 28, 2021
Kathleen C. Brown , age 96, of Harleysville, went to be with our Lord on October 28, 2021. A graduate of Buckingham H.S., she received her B.S. from Kutztown State Teachers College in 1946. She taught 4 th grade at Lower Salford Elementary School in Harleysville for 14 years. When she left teaching, she worked as a real estate agent and later at Grand View Hospital as an admissions clerk. She finished her employment life as a file clerk for Richter Drafting and Office Supply, working there until she was 91. Kathleen was a member of Grace Mennonite Church in Lansdale, faithfully attending Sunday School and church, and sang in the choir.
Hobbies she enjoyed were reading, singing, and playing piano. Kathleen loved sharing her beautiful roses with many. She also took pleasure in traveling and was proud that she had visited every U.S. state and many countries. She loved chocolate, Coca-Cola, and her many pets over the years – especially her cats. She often said she only disliked three things – and they were all sewing.
She is survived by a son, Steven C. Brown and his wife, Donna, Telford; daughter Barbara I. Brown of Harleysville; and granddaughter Anita L. Brown of Schwenksville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, William "Bill" L. Brown, her parents, Jacob and Nellie (Groft) Crouthamel, and her step-mother, Ione (Oatman) Crouthamel.
