Kathryn “Kay” Anne (Ingersoll) Valleley, 77, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania; formerly of Wildwood, New Jersey, went home to be with her parents and her Lord on Monday, September 7, 2026, at LifeQuest Nursing Center in Quakertown.

She was the loving wife of the late Paul Valleley, with whom she shared 52 devoted years of marriage. Kay was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Benjamin Charles Ingersoll III and the late Eda (Johnson) Ingersoll.

Kay was a graduate of Wildwood High School, Wildwood, NJ, Class of 1967. She went on to graduate from Temple University in Philadelphia with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, where she was among the first women to graduate from Temple with this degree. A proud Temple Owl, one of Kay’s favorite sayings was, “Temple Owls are EVERYWHERE.”

Kay’s working life was filled with a variety of experiences and opportunities. During her younger years, she spent summers on the Wildwood Boardwalk selling tickets for the rides. She also worked at the former Douglass Fudge, Saltwater Taffy, Fudge and Candies, and the former Esher’s Clothing Shop, both in Wildwood, NJ. She later served as head resident at the former Ellen Cushing Junior College in Bryn Mawr, PA.

Kay was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and servant of the Lord. She taught physical education and health at Faith Christian School in Roslyn, PA, and later at Twin Spring Farm in Ambler, PA, where she worked until her retirement in 2017. During her teaching career, she also coached at Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, PA, and Phil-Mont Christian Academy in Erdenheim, PA.

Her faith was an important part of Kay’s life. Over the years, she was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church in Goshen (Middle Township), NJ; Grace Chapel in Havertown, PA; First Baptist Church of Cape May in Cape May Court House (Middle Township), NJ; Calvary Church of Souderton; and Calvary Chapel in Chalfont, PA. She was a current member of Bethany Bible Fellowship Church in Hatfield, PA. At each of these churches, Kay joyfully served as a children’s Sunday school teacher and helper for more than 30 years, reflecting her deep love for children and her desire to serve others.

Kay enjoyed cheering on all of the Philadelphia sports teams, working on word search puzzles, spending time with her family, and, of course, loving her granddog, Coco. Most of all, she treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Kay was a steady, strong, quiet, and dependable woman. She was caring and compassionate, always willing to lend a helping hand. She was unshakable in her faith and devotion to those she loved. Fiercely loyal and selfless, Kay was someone who could always be counted on—she simply showed up, again and again, for the people who needed her.

Kay is survived by her two sons, Timothy Paul Valleley Sr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Amarillo, TX, and Andrew Peter Valleley and his wife, Jaime, of Quakertown, PA; and her seven grandchildren, Kathryn, Sarah, Timothy Jr., Kymberlynn, Wesley, Isabella, and Angelina.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kay was preceded in death by her brother, Benjamin Carnell Ingersoll.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. The service will be Livestreamed.

A private inurnment will take place at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Cape May Court House, NJ, where Kay will be laid to rest together with her beloved husband, Paul.
