Obituary

Kenneth "Ike" A. Cassel , 87, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Sellersville, PA went home to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at his residence.

He was the loving husband of Marie (Snider) Cassel for 66 years. Ken was born in Kulpsville, PA to the late John H. Cassel and the late Florence (Anders) Cassel.

He attended Kulpsville School in Kulpsville, PA. Ken served in the United States Army National Guard for 5 years. He worked as a presser/supervisor for the former Schoeneman Clothing Factory/Sun-Lite Shops in Souderton for 25 years. Ken then worked as a maintenance man for the Souderton school district for 3 years. He later worked in the freezer/packaging department for the former Moyer Packing (now known as JBS Foods) in Souderton for almost 20 years, until retiring in 1998.

Ken was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Telford where he served as an usher and a former Sunday school superintendent.

Ken loved spending time with his family and attending the grandchildren's sporting events. He and his family loved camping and going to New Jersey shore. In his younger years, Ken enjoyed helping on his in-law's dairy farm in Susquehanna County. He enjoyed woodworking, fixing automobiles, and building furniture and other wood projects. Ken was a Phillies fan and enjoyed watching game shows on TV. He loved his Yorkie, Molly.

Ken was a loving, quiet man who was a bit of a jokester and had a good sense of humor.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Deborah L. Reinert & husband, David of Green Lane, PA; his two sons, Kenneth A. Cassel, Jr. & wife, Kathy of Perkasie, PA, Keith A. Cassel of Sellersville, PA; his six grandchildren – Jason, Andrew, Brandon, Janet, Weston, & Christine; his nine great-grandchildren – Kaden, Sabrina, Cassidy, Sebastian, Austin, Brady, Addison, Hudson, & Everett; his great-great-grandson, Saint S. Harvey; his sister, Judith Specht of Hatfield, PA; and his brother, John Cassel, Jr. of Lansdale, PA.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his sister, Jane "Tut" Alcott and his two brothers, James & Wayne Cassel.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 107 W. Lincoln Ave., Telford, Pennsylvania 18969 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am.

A private inurnment will take place at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
