Kenneth "Kenny" G. Knapp , 90, of Quakertown, PA; formerly of Telford, PA & Silverdale, PA passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at LifeQuest Nursing Center.

Kenny was born in Silverdale, PA to the late George L. Knapp and the late Grace E. (Kramer) Knapp. He graduated from Sell-Perk High School, class of 1952. Kenny married Ruth (Conard) Knapp in 1958 and they had three children: Sherry, Julie and Kenneth W. Ruth and he divorced in 1987. He married Elizabeth "Liz" A. (Steich) Knapp in 1992 and was happily married for 31 years, joining her family of five children.

After high school, he worked as an auto mechanic, then opened his own business, Ken Knapp Lawn Equipment, in Telford. After selling the business, Kenny worked for the former Moyer's Lawn and Garden in Perkasie and was also employed by Trumbauer's Lawn and Garden in Quakertown, PA. After retiring, he delivered automobiles for Cioccia Chevrolet of Quakertown.

Kenny was a volunteer firefighter for 72 years with the Silverdale and Lower Milford Township Fire Departments. He was a life member and former deputy chief of Silverdale Fire Company.

Kenny was also a life member and a former engineer and assistant chief of Lower Milford Fire Company in Limeport, PA and later became a lieutenant with the Fire Police. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Victory Lodge in Sellersville, PA for 48 years, serving as Secretary of his Lodge for many years.

Kenny enjoyed trombone in the high school band and played marimba with the Knapp Marimba Family musical group. He enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, camping and visiting friends and family. Kenny was a hardworking man who loved to stay active and had a good sense of humor. He was a big fan of NASCAR auto racing. At age 80, he drove a race car around track at Pocono Raceway, an event he heartily enjoyed.

He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Sherry Lynn Knapp-Brown of Fairfield, OH; his son, Kenneth W. Knapp of Hatfield, PA; his 10 grandchildren; his 6 great-grandchildren; his five step-children, Anna Marie Pierson & husband, Walter of Rancho Cordova, CA, Carol Ann Slifer & husband, Walter of Quakertown, PA, Elizabeth Ann Berkstresser & husband, Mark of Climax, NC, Arthur Raymond Steich of Quakertown, PA, Brenda Lee Hardy & husband, Alex of Perkasie, PA; his sister, Eileen Bengtson of Mystic, CT; his two nephews, William Everett Garrett, Jr. & wife, Paula of Henderson, NV, Daniel Garrett of Franklin, CT; and his two nieces, Bethanne Cassidy & husband, Dan of Hatfield, PA, Rhonda Geyer & husband, Brian of Silverdale, PA and grandniece Sydney Geyer.

In addition to his parents and his wives, Kenny was preceded in death by his son, David J. Knapp; his daughter, Julie Ann Knapp, his son-in-law, Barry L. Brown; his brother, George Leonard Knapp, his sister-in-law, Nancy Knapp, and his brother-in-law, Paul Bengston.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964 from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:30 pm.

Inurnment will take place at Hilltown Union Cemetery, 1023 Hilltown Pike, Hilltown Township, PA at 4 PM, followed by a reception and buffet at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1530 Augsburg Drive, Hilltown Township PA 18927.

Kenny spent many months at Shriners Philadelphia as a teen. He felt great gratitude to Shriners for providing him with the medical care and rehabilitation he needed.
