Obituary

Leighanne “Ebby” Elizabeth Kister, 45, of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, and formerly of Elkins Park and Hilltown, Pennsylvania, entered into rest peacefully at her home on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Born in Abington, Pennsylvania, Leighanne was the beloved daughter of the late Martin H. Kister and the late Martha Elizabeth (Adlam) Kister.

She attended Abington High School and later studied at Montgomery County Community College.

Leighanne had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world and found joy in spending time outdoors. She loved animals, music, hiking, camping, photography, sketching, and writing. She enjoyed attending music festivals and farmers markets and was an avid reader with a curious spirit.

Leighanne will be remembered as a caring, loving, passionate, and free-spirited woman whose kind heart and wonderful sense of humor touched the lives of those who knew her.

She is survived by her stepfather, James P. Leary of Souderton, Pennsylvania; her brothers, Erik J. Kister of Rockledge, Pennsylvania, and Scott M. Kister of Glenside, Pennsylvania; her stepsister, Coleen E. Thompson & husband, Craig of Souderton, Pennsylvania; her stepbrothers, J. Patrick Leary & wife, Amy of Eagleville, Pennsylvania, and Brian C. Leary & wife, Jenna of Ambler, Pennsylvania; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

A private Celebration of Life will be held in the fall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
