Leroy Gladfelter , 89, a long time resident of Perkasie, PA, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Horsham Center for Jewish Life, North Wales, PA.
He was the loving husband of Shirley (Schnable) Gladfelter for 70 years. Leroy was born in Sellersville, PA to the late Charles Gladfelter and the late Ethel (Grim) Gladfelter.
A graduate from Quakertown High, class of 1954, Leroy was employed as an installer for Bell Telephone. He enjoyed playing trombone and marimba and bowling with his family and in a league. He was a handy man who seemed to be able to fix anything. He built a beautiful redwood canoe, which he later gave to his grandson James.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Evangelical Church, Hilltown, PA where he served as a former Church Council Member and volunteered for the church activities.
Leroy and his wife Shirley made many annual trips to Rochester, MN to visit his daughters and grandchildren. He is survived by his two daughters, Karen Joy Spaeth and husband Terry, and Michelle Willihnganz and husband Kevin, both of Rochester, MN; and his son, Mark Gladfelter and wife Dyann of Ellenwood, GA; his five grandchildren, James, Katie, Stephanie, Jenny, and Michael. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Denise Spier, and his brother, Floyd Gladfelter.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. 1530 Augsburg Drive, Hilltown, PA 18927 followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am.
Burial will take place at Hilltown Union Cemetery.
