Lester L. Rittenhouse , 90, of Telford, PA went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Souderton Mennonite Homes.

He was the loving husband of Rhoda Lorraine (Beyer) Rittenhouse for 65 years. Lester was born in Franconia Twp., PA to the late Harvey B. Rittenhouse and the late Mary (Lapp) Rittenhouse.

He attended Franconia Consolidated School. Throughout his entire life, Lester was a 5th generation farmer at the Rittenhouse Farm in Telford, PA. He also worked as commission merchant in the Ambler, Ft. Washington, & Flourtown areas, starting in 1940 until July 6, 2023.

Lester was a member of Souderton Mennonite Church. He enjoyed farming, driving his tractor, and meeting with his customers.

Lester was a hardworking, honest, faithful man.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Judith "Judy" F. Buskirk & husband, Philip of Harrisonburg, VA; his two sons, James "Jim" L. Rittenhouse & wife, Kendra of Green Lane, PA, V. Scott Rittenhouse & wife, Sherise of Telford, PA; his eight grandchildren, Sean P. Rolon & wife, Jenny of Leesburg, VA, Steven J. Rittenhouse & wife, Christa Hoover of Harrisonburg, VA, Joel A. Rittenhouse & wife, Carleigh of Harrisonburg, VA, Justin S. Rittenhouse of Harrisonburg, VA, Japheth S. Rittenhouse & wife, Rachel of Telford, PA, Joah A. Rittenhouse of Telford, PA, Taleh R. Andersen & husband, Christopher of Waterdown, Ontario, Canada, Emily S. Rittenhouse & fiancé, Kenny Graham of Harrisonburg, VA; his three great-grandchildren, Cora H. Rittenhouse of Harrisonburg, VA, Ryan N. Rittenhouse of Harrisonburg, VA, Simon H. Rittenhouse of Harrisonburg, VA; his sister, Mary Rittenhouse-Schwartzentruber & husband, Hubert of Lansdale, PA; and his sister-in-law, Beulah Rittenhouse of Souderton, PA.

In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Cheryl A. Rittenhouse and his brother, Henry L. Rittenhouse.

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Souderton Mennonite Church, 105 W. Chestnut St., Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm and on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 9:00am - 10:30 am.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 10:30 am at Souderton Mennonite Church, 105 W. Chestnut St., Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964. The service will be livestreamed.

Burial will take place at Souderton Mennonite Church Cemetery.
