Linford F. Landis , 92, of Souderton, formerly of Harleysville, PA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Souderton Mennonite Homes.
He was the loving husband of the late Sallie (Blank) Landis for 45 years and to the late Frances (Geissinger) (Jones) Landis for 24 years. Linford was born in Harleysville, PA to the late Henry M. and the Katie (Frederick) Landis.
Linford was employed as a truck driver for the following; The Estate of George Snyder, Hatfield during the 60's, Farm Bureau, Souderton during 70 – 80's, and Mast Construction, Harleysville, PA in the 90's till retirement.
A former member of Upper Skippack Mennonite Church where he was a former Church Trustee and served on the Cemetery Committee for 19 years. He was also a representative for Mennonite Disaster Service. Linford and his late wife, Sallie, served on the church's visitation committee and assisted in delivering the Christian monthly paper called "The Way" in Norristown, PA. Linford was also a member of "Transport for Christ". He was current member of Towamencin Mennonite Church, Kulpsville, PA.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine L. Weiss and husband Timothy of New Holland, PA, his two sons, Dale K. Landis and wife Ruth of Harleysville, PA, and Ernest K. Landis and wife Fern of Mount Pleasant Mills, PA; his son-in-law, Kenneth Witmer; his nine grandchildren, Timothy, Heather, Yvonne, Anthony, Christopher, Jason, Brice, Bryan and Braden and his sixteen great-grand children, Andrew, Jeremy, Hannah, Colin, Rachel, Addison, Ryanne, Zachary, Taelyn, Corbyn, Grace, Gavin, Palmer, Jonathan, Melanie and Micah. His two step-sisters, Marion Jones of York, PA, and Beulah Hafley of Perkasie, PA and his step-brother, Kenneth Landis of Perkasie, PA.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lorraine L. Witmer: his four brothers, Allen, Henry, Ellis, Paul and his step-mother, Laura Landis and his two step-brothers, Raymond and Russell.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 10:30 am at Towamencin Mennonite Church, Route 63, Kulpsville, PA 19443 where friends may meet with the family from 9 am till time of service.
Burial will take place in the Upper Skippack Mennonite Cemetery.
