Lizzie Kratz (Derstine) Godshall , 89, of Pennsburg, PA; formerly of Telford, PA & Souderton, PA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Pennsburg Manor.

She was born in Franconia Twp., PA to the late Allen M. Derstine and the late Minnie (Landis) Derstine.

Lizzie was a former employee of the Golden Chariot Motel in Montgomeryville, PA and the Holiday Inn in Kulpsville, PA for more than 20 years.

She was a former member of Rocky Ridge Mennonite Church in Quakertown and a current member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church in Blooming Glen, PA.

Lizzie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandson. She enjoyed sewing, sending cards on special occasions, baking pies, and oil painting.

Lizzie taught us to accept others and to embrace the arts. She especially liked music and art and enjoyed her co-workers and neighbors. She enjoyed trips to the Jersey Shore, movies and art museums. One of her favorite films was the Barbara Stanwyck movie "Stella Dallas" but she also liked more contemporary movies with Jane Fonda.

Among her favorite singers were Dionne Warwick, Barry Manilow, and Glenn Campbell. Lizzie was fortunate to see Ms. Warwick and Mr. Campbell in concert. She also enjoyed attending Broadway plays and musicals. Her two favorite musicals were a revival of "The Sound of Music" and a gospel musical play about a traveling family of singers entitled "Smoke on the Mountain." At the intermission of such production, the audience had the option of purchasing scrumptious desserts. She also enjoyed seeing the musical revue (with her friend Eleanor Landis) entitled "Smokey Joe's Cafe" which had hit songs from the 1950s and 1960s. A favorite play that she attended in New York was "Waiting in the Wings" starring, among others, Ms. Lauren Bacall.

Lizzie had many friends in Souderton and Telford and liked making new friends when she moved to Grundy Manor in Telford. She was a grateful member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church for many years. She was loved by many people.

Lizzie was a loving and caring woman who was optimistic and always thoughtful of others.

Lizzie is survived by her son, Brian Ray Godshall of Guttenberg, NJ; her two daughters, Christina Wrubleski of North Wales, PA, Caroline P. Miller & husband, William of Perkiomenville, PA; her seven grandchildren – Joshua, Rachel, Maura, Eli, Preston, Lucas, & Jordan; her great-grandson – Isaiah; her brother, Ray Derstine & wife, Shana of Evergreen, CO; her two sisters, Naomi D. Ross & husband, Kenneth of St. Charles, MO, Edna Rush of Telford, PA; and her two brother-in-laws, David Tully of Great Barrington, MA, and David Harley of Barker, NV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four siblings, Wilson Derstine, Edith Tully, Wilmer Derstine, & Sarah Harley; her grandson, Jacob Miller, and her brother-in-law, Henry Rush.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road, Blooming Glen, PA 18911 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.

Burial will take place at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church Cemetery.
