Louis "Lou" F. DiPietro , 82, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania, formerly of Northeast and South Philadelphia, entered into rest peacefully at his residence on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Lou was the beloved husband of Frances "Fran" M. Reichert, with whom he shared 22 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia to the late Frank G. DiPietro and the late Mary Rose (Furfari) DiPietro, Louis was raised with strong family values that guided him throughout his life.

A graduate of Father Judge High School, he continued his education at Temple University. Over the years, Lou built a long and respected career as a butcher and businessman. He worked at the former Frankie's Meats in South Philadelphia and Pantry Pride Supermarket in Philadelphia. For more than 15 years, he proudly owned and operated Lou's Meats & Deli in Northeast Philadelphia, where he became a familiar and trusted face in the community. He later worked at Illg's Meats in Chalfont, served as a salesman for Cento Foods in New Jersey, and was a team leader at Manheim Philadelphia in Hatfield.

Lou honorably served his country with Company B, 1st Battalion, 111th Infantry Regiment of the United States Army National Guard.

A man of Catholic faith, Lou cherished time spent with his family. He especially loved being with his grandchildren, cooking and sharing meals, traveling, playing bocce, visiting the casino, and crafting his own homemade wine. He treasured simple joys — including going for drives with his "princess." Known for his strong work ethic, generosity, kindness, and devotion to those he loved, Lou leaves behind a legacy of warmth and dedication.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Maryanne Sweeney and her husband, Ryan of Willow Grove, PA and his stepson, John C. Reichert and his wife, Gail of Winter Garden, FL; his four cherished grandchildren: Annamaria, Christine, and Ryan Jr. Sweeney and Tyler Reichert; and his brother, Anthony DiPietro of Richboro, PA.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Broad St., P.O.Box 31, Hilltown, Pennsylvania 18927, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will take place at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hatfield Cemetery.
