Obituary

Marcia Lynn Goodenough Kolla , 83, of Harleysville, PA; formerly of Whitehall, PA, passed away at home on Thursday July 8, 2021.

Marcia was born in Coudersport, PA to the late LeRoy Goodenough and the late Ruth Focht Goodenough. She was the fifth of seven children and spent her childhood in Elmira, NY.  Marcia graduated from Germantown Hospital School of Nursing in 1958.

She worked as a salesperson for Macy's Department Store in Whitehall, PA for 28 years until her retirement in 2004.

Marcia was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Kolla, to whom she was married for 46 years until his death in 2003.

She loved spending time with her family. Marcia was an avid reader and belonged to several book clubs. She was a member of the Woman's Club of Indian Valley. Marcia knitted and crocheted many blankets for her children and grandchildren over her lifetime. She enjoyed playing card and board games. Marcia also enjoyed cross stitching with her lady friends.

She did the New York Times and Wall Street Journal cross word puzzles in ink!

Marcia is survived by her five children.  Daughters, Kathy (Tim) Lescoe of Harleysville, PA;  Kim (Bob) Kepler of Albrightsville, PA; Julie (John) Cerniglia of Neffs, PA; Sons, Joe (Amy) Kolla of Powhatan, VA; and Chris Kolla of Harleysville, PA who was her heart.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren-Greg and Ryan, Ben and Nick, Kaylee and Kari, Jordan, Chrissy and Kira; as well as four great grandchildren-Lilianna and Micah and Oliver and Maizie; her brother, Charles Goodenough of Wind Gap, PA; and her sister Alice Conklin of Simsbury, CT.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her four sisters, Barbara Edwards, Suzanne Strailey, Nancy Cornell and Mary VanHorn.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
