Margaret "Betty" (Tanner) Harding , 92, of East Greenville, formerly of Hatfield, Pennsylvania, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at her daughter's residence.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late William "Bill" Nelson Harding, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Charles Tanner and the late Gladys Olive (Ryder) Tanner.
She was a graduate of Olney High School, Philadelphia, Class of 1951, and went on to attend the Philadelphia College of Bible for two years. Betty was first employed at Hatfield Pharmacy and later served as Bookstore Manager for Biblical Seminary in Hatfield, PA, a position she held faithfully for more than 30 years.
Betty was a devoted member of Grace Bible Church in Souderton, PA. Prior to that, she was very active at Church of the Open Door in Fort Washington, PA, where she sang in the choir and participated in various ministries.
Betty was a longtime preschool teacher in church children's ministries, including Five-Day Clubs, Bible Clubs, and Good Friday services, many of which she hosted from her home. She was an avid reader and deeply committed to sharing her faith. She enjoyed playing board and card games with family and friends and cherished traveling internationally with her husband, including spending four weeks every June in Singapore for 17 years straight.
Betty will be remembered as a kind, nurturing, loving, and selfless woman who was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl J. Hailey of East Greenville, PA, and Sharon R. Radcliff and her husband, Steven of Souderton, PA; her eight grandchildren, Charissa, Daniel, Peter, Melanie, Derek, William, Mindi, and Melissa; her ten great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Aria, Nya, Sophia, Nora, Scarlett, Whitney, Eric, Emma, and Hudson; and her brother, Robert Tanner and his wife, Joan of West Palm Beach, Florida.
In addition to her husband, Bill, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Scott, and her son-in-law, Peter Hailey.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek, 171 Church Road, Telford, PA 18969, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at George Washington Memorial Park in Ambler, PA.
