On November 1, 2023, Margaret (Peg) Ann Hendricks , 81, passed into the Kingdom of Heaven.  Peg was born on November 14, 1941 in Akron, Ohio to James Russell and Isabelle Burnside Knisely.  She was raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and attended Cuyahoga Falls High School before continuing her education at Bowling Green State University where she received undergraduate degrees in English and History followed by a Masters degree in Education from University of Akron.

Following college, Peg married her high school sweetheart, Ted Hendricks.  Ted was the love of Peg's life and their marriage of 59 years was a great joy to her. Peg and Ted started their life together in Akron, Ohio and had two children, Lisa and David, While they had planned to spend their lives in Ohio near their families, opportunities in Ted's career took them all over the Eastern US to Albany and LaGrange, GA; Doylestown, PA; Marion, OH; Ithaca, NY; Boston MA; Collegeville, PA, and finally Brittany Pointe Estates in Lansdale, PA.

In each location, Peg used her talents as an educator to serve the community and expand her personal growth.  She progressed from teaching middle school English in Akron, to teaching college level Composition, to becoming an Administrator at both the High School and College levels.  Along the way, she was also the Director of an art museum and the Director of several foundations.  Peg's talents were diverse and plentiful.  No matter the title she held, Peg was always a teacher in every professional, volunteer and personal role.  Teaching people of all ages was her true vocation as she loved learning and sharing knowledge with others.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Peg shared her talents in each community through extensive volunteerism.  During her life, Peg served on more than 65 Boards in a variety of areas.  She believed in serving her communities in an effort to "give back" and improve the common good.  Her dedication to service continued until her last days with her extensive involvement at Brittany Pointe Estates.

The most treasured roles in Peg's life were that of Wife, Mother and Grandmother.  Regardless of her other positions, Peg always saved the best for her family.  Her favorite activities were playmate, cheerleader and avid fan for her husband, children and grandchildren.  As an only child, Peg reveled in building strong, individual relationships with each grandchild.  She enjoyed connecting the previous generations with her children and grandchildren through storytelling, travel, and long-standing family traditions.   Peg is survived by her husband, Ted Hendricks; her daughter and husband, Lisa and Michael Haeflein; her son and wife, David and Karen Hendricks; her grandchildren, Alexandra Haeflein, Ryan Hendricks, Jillian Hendricks, and Owen Hendricks.

Peg was generous in all ways, but particularly in sharing her many talents and endless energy with others. Her kind, caring nature drew people to her.  The twinkle in her bright, blue eyes, her beautiful smile, her infectious laugh, her caring nature and her true interest in others bonded people to her in friendship.  Peg's sense of humor warmed people of all ages and made her beloved by all who had the opportunity to spend time in her company.  Peg always put family and friends first and was available to support, teach, play with or visit at all times.   She will be missed every day for her warmth, generosity, humor, intelligence, humility, and positivity.

A Memorial Service of Celebration will be held January 7, 2024 at 1:30 pm at Brittany Pointe Estates in Lansdale, PA.  All who attend are encouraged to bring a written memory of Peg and spirit of joy.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to ACTS-Hospice, 420 Delaware Drive, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
