Marian (Kerr) Alderfer , 96, of Souderton, formerly of Franconia. PA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Souderton Mennonite Homes. Souderton, PA.
She was the loving wife of the late Abram H. Alderfer for 67 years. Marian was born in Harleysville, PA to the late Maurice Kerr and the late Elmira (Nyce) Kerr.
Prior to her marriage, she assisted her late father, Maurice, on a commission route to Philadelphia. After her marriage to Abram she assisted him on the family farm and cleaned personal homes in the community.
Marian was a life member of Salford Mennonite Church, Harleysville, PA were she formerly was active with the ladies sewing circle, and taught Summer Bible School. She and her late husband assisted George Gaugler with the routine cleaning of the church sanctuary.
A devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and especially mowing her lawn.
Marian is survived by her son, Paul K. Alderfer and wife Judi of Souderton, PA; her grandson, Scott P. Alderfer of Souderton, PA; her grand- daughter, Kendra L. Hartley of Perkasie, PA; and her eight great-grandchildren, Geoffrey, Felisha, Zakery, Dylan, Kaila, Savanah, Alexis and Braden; and her three great-great-grandsons, Branden, Geoffrey, Jr. and Carson.
In addition to her husband, Abram she was preceded in death by her brother, Walter N. Kerr.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 7th, 2022 at Salford Mennonite Church, 480 Groff's Mill Road, Harleysville, PA 19438 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM.
Inurnment will take place at Salford Mennonite Cemetery.
