Marilee Jane (Stover) Hughes , 87, of Souderton, PA, formerly of Earlington, PA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Souderton Mennonite Homes.

Marilee was the loving wife of the late Ronald Bruce Hughes for 67 years. She was born in Sellersville, PA to the late Jacob S. Stover and the late Mary L. (Nyce) Stover.

Marilee attended Souderton Area High School, class of 1955, and later received her GED.

She worked as a florist for the former Frederick's Flowers in Souderton. Marilee was employed as a bookkeeper for J.S. Stover in Telford, PA for more than 30 years. She then worked as a cashier for Shelly & Fenstermacher in Souderton.

Marilee was a member of Immanuel Leidy's Church where she served as financial secretary, and was also a member of the church and bell choir, the kitchen staff, and participated in the Golden Circle for many decades. She also did volunteer work for numerous Leidy's church members and families.

Marilee enjoyed playing the piano and singing. Her lifetime passion was cooking and entertaining friends and family in her home. Her door was always open, and her grandchildren spent many hours at her kitchen table. She enjoyed annual trips to Ocean City, NJ with her family and friends. As a farmer's wife, she spent countless hours canning and freezing fruits and vegetables.

Marilee will be remembered as a hardworking, caring, frugal, social woman who was generous with her time and straight-forward with her opinions.

She is survived by her three sons, R. Scott Hughes & wife, Susan of Collegeville, PA, David Bruce Hughes & wife, Florence of Doylestown, PA, Michael Craig Hughes & wife,
Deborah of Schwenksville, PA; her daughter, Allison Walbrandt & husband, David of Skippack, PA; her 16 grandchildren – Christopher, Stephen, Samuel, Emmett, Abram, Millicent, Kendra, Courtney, Jacob, Casey, Carly, Lindsay, Alexander, Peter, Hollie, & Megan; her 24 great-grandchildren – Addison, Brielle, Caleigh, Ashley, Andrew, Owen, Lily, Parker, Camden, Maisie, Daytona, Phoenix, Nolan, Sawyer, Paxton, Finley, Dylan, Chandler, Maverick, Hadley, Delaney, Eleanor, Emma, & Collin; her two brothers, Jay R. Stover of Telford, PA, and John Stover & wife, Angela of Gilbert, AZ.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sophie M. Hughes and her sister-in-law, Marjorie Stover.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Immanuel Leidy's Church, 273 W. Cherry Lane, Souderton, PA 18964.

Burial will take place at Immanuel Leidy's Church Cemetery, followed by a luncheon.
