Obituary

Marilyn (Moyer) Kriebel , 86, of Souderton, Pennsylvania, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Souderton Mennonite Homes.

She was the beloved wife of the late Wilbur L. Kriebel, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. Born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Horace and the late Dorothy (Bower) Moyer.

Marilyn attended Souderton Area High School and was employed for two years as a cashier at Clemens Markets in Lansdale where she met her future husband. Above all, she was devoted to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She faithfully served for many years on the Board of Directors at Souderton Mennonite Homes and was a longtime member of Grace Mennonite Church in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

In her younger years, Marilyn enjoyed swimming at the Souderton Pool, playing ball with her three sons, and riding her bicycle – often as many as 20 miles a day. Tragically, after being struck by a car while bicycling, she spent much of her life as a quadriplegic and confined to a wheelchair. Despite this life-altering event, Marilyn lived a full and meaningful life.

With the devoted and loving care of her husband, Wilbur, she shared her time and gifts by speaking in local elementary schools, volunteering at Souderton Mennonite Homes by visiting and befriending residents, and remaining faithfully active at Grace Mennonite Church. Time spent with her children, grandchildren, and her great-granddaughter was her greatest joy. She took sincere interest in each of their lives and delighted in celebrating their accomplishments. Together, Marilyn and Wilbur modeled a Christ-centered life and a godly marriage, blessing many through their example.

Marilyn is survived by her three sons: Douglas K. Kriebel & wife, Linda of East Greenville, PA; Steven Kriebel & wife, Lena of Gilbertsville, PA; and Gary Kriebel & wife, Annette of Great Falls, MT. She is also survived by her six grandchildren – Darrin, Stephanie, Abigail, Joshua, Megan, and Renee; her great-granddaughter, Sophia; her brother, Donald Moyer & wife, Donna of Harleysville, PA; and her sisters: Doris Moyer of Harleysville, PA; Eileen Pogany & husband, Dennis of Green Lane, PA; and Donna Rosenberger & husband, Steve of Harleysville, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by her two brothers, Clyde and Arlin Moyer.

A Celebration of Life Service for Wilbur and Marilyn will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Mennonite Church, 630 York Avenue, Lansdale, Pennsylvania 19446, followed by an informal visitation at 11:30 a.m.

A private inurnment will take place at Zion Memorial Gardens in Franconia.
