Marjorie Marie (Artz) Goetz , 92, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Appomattox, VA and Lansdale, PA entered into rest on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Souderton Mennonite Homes.

She was the loving wife of the late William Thomas Goetz. Marjorie was born in Port Matilda, PA to the late Raymond Stanford Artz and the late Emily Lucinda (Steele) Artz.

She graduated from State College High School, class of 1946. Marjorie worked as a server at the Nittany Lion Inn in State College, PA. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. While living in Lansdale Marjorie worked for Beaver Printing and she was also employed by Amplifier Research in Souderton. Marjorie volunteered at the Historic Appomattox Station Arts and Crafts Center in Appomattox, VA.

She was a member of Lansdale United Methodist Church in Lansdale, PA and later a member of Rustburg Presbyterian Church in Rustburg, VA.

Over the years Marjorie participated in the Women's Circle in various churches she attended.  She was also a member of the Civinettes Club in Hagerstown, MD at one time serving as president; she volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Portsmouth, OH; and volunteered in Hospice care work in Appomattox, VA.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, watching the birds, sewing, hand crafts, quilting and going to the Outer Banks with her family.

Marjorie was a caring, spiritual, positive woman who truly found the 'good' in everything. She was soft spoken but when she did speak she had something important to say.

Marjorie is survived by her five of her children, Tom Goetz & wife, Judy of Hatfield, PA, Penny Coleman & husband, Allen of Rockaway, NJ, Peggy Goetz & husband, Richard Timpson of Takoma Park, MD, Ed Goetz & wife, Beverly Finnerty of Columbus, OH; Libbie Hagan & husband, Jim of Thornton, PA; her daughter-in-law, Dana Goetz of Lynchburg, VA; her 14 grandchildren; her 19 great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Mary Kathryn (Ronald) Copenhaver of Bloomsburg, PA, Patsy Artz of Silver Spring, MD.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John David Goetz; her sister, Shirley Hykes; and her four brothers, Raymond Stanford Artz II, John Nelson Artz, Gerald Artz & James Artz; and grandson Richard William Timpson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, 150 W Pine Grove Rd, Pine Grove Mills, PA 16868.

Inurnment will take place at Pine Grove Mills Cemetery.
