Mark A. Limbert , 101, of Souderton, PA passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at his residence.
He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy Mae (Arbogast) Limbert for 73 years. Mark was born in Rebersburg, PA to the late Agnew Limbert and the late Loeda (Mark) Limbert.
He graduated from Rebersburg High School in Rebersburg, PA, class of 1937. Mark graduated from Pierce Business School in Philadelphia, PA, class of 1939. He served in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean War. After the war, Mark worked in the office for the former Sackman Brothers in Telford. Throughout his working lifetime, he was employed as a Commerical Loan Officer for the former Union National Bank (now known as Univest) in Souderton for more than 45 years, until retiring in 1982. After retiring, Mark worked as a credit manager for the former Longacre Poultry in Franconia.
He was a former member of Zwingli United Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and co-chair of the building fund. Mark was a member of Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek.
He was a member of the Souderton-Telford Rotary Club and a member of the American Legion Post #234 in Souderton. Mark was a member of the Souderton Borough Planning Committee, the Shade Tree Committee, a judge of elections ward one, and treasurer of the Souderton Industrial Authority.
He enjoyed gardening, reading, and bicycling. Mark's personality was exemplified by the 'Greatest Generation'.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol A. Washington of Dillsburg, PA; his two sons, Paul M. Limbert & wife, Louise of Wheeling, WV, Bruce A. Limbert & Nancy Frei of Hatfield, PA; his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Limbert of Quakertown, PA; his six grandchildren – Jonathan, Susan, Michael, Shawn, Christopher, & Mandi; and his 15 great-grandchildren – Marcus, Jonathan, Hannah, Emma, Seth, Ben, Bethany, Caroline, Rory, Brodie, Hadley, Gabe, Connor, Ryland, & Chesney.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mark was preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Mann.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Inurnment will take place at Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek Cemetery.
