Marvin L. Detweiler , 85, of Souderton, formerly of Dublin, PA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 26th, 2024 at Souderton Mennonite Homes.

He was the loving husband of the late Esther (Hunsberger) Detweiler for 54 years. Marvin was born in Dublin, PA to the late Clayton H. Detweiler and the late Anna M. (Leatherman) Detweiler.

A graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie, PA class of 1956, he then went to Indianapolis, IN where he served two years as a medical orderly. Returning he was employed as an Order Checker for American Olean Tile Co., Lansdale, PA for 34 years until the late nineties. After leaving the American Olean Tile he was employed by the bakery for Landis Supermarket, Telford, PA.

Marvin was a lifelong member of Deep Run Mennonite Church East, Perkasie, PA, as well as a lifelong member of Dublin Fire Company.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be remembered for his hard working never give up spirit.

Marvin collected Winross Trucks, thousands of pens, pencils and was very interested in Lionel Trains.

He is survived by his three sons, Wesley S. Detweiler and wife Rebecca of Harleysville, PA, David E. Detweiler and Corey J. Detweiler both of Souderton, PA; his two grandsons, Tanner Detweiler of Bethlehem, PA, and Austin Detweiler and wife Allison of Schwenksville, PA.

In addition to his wife Esther, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Lori Detweiler and his sister, Gladys Derstine.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 at Deep Run Mennonite Church East, 350 Kellers Church Road, Perkasie, PA starting at 9:30 am to 11am. Funeral services at 11 am.

Burial will take place at Deep Run Mennonite Cemetery East.
