Marvin B. Moyer , 81, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Harleysville, PA went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at his residence.
He was the loving husband of Joan D. (Fetterolf) Moyer for 59 years. Marvin was born in Harleysville, PA to the late Clayton C. Moyer and the late Lizzie V. (Bissey) Moyer.
In his youth, he worked as a laborer on the former Landis Farm in Harleysville. Marvin worked as a commission merchant for the former I.F. Mininger in Hatfield, as a boom truck operator for Nyce Crete in Lansdale, and as a route foreman for Lehigh Valley Dairy in Lansdale. Marvin was employed for 28 years as an over the road truck driver for the former Wampler-Longacre, Inc. in Franconia, PA. After retiring, he worked part-time driving a dump truck for Horgan Brothers in Harleysville, and later as a car jockey for Ciocca-Ford in Quakertown, and for Bergey's in Franconia.
Marvin was a founding member of Indian Valley Faith Fellowship in Harleysville and served in various aspects of Church activities during his 52 years as a member. His faith and walk with the Lord were an important part of his daily life.
Marvin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He looked forward to attending the choral and sporting events of the grandchildren, both locally and all across the country. Marvin and Joan enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with many winter trips to Florida and Arizona. He was an avid reader, loved playing cards, had a keen interest in following politics, and in his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and coaching Harleysville Little League.
In addition to his wife, Joan, Marvin is survived by two sons, Douglas K. Moyer and wife, Jane of Harleysville, PA and Bradley N. Moyer and wife, Christen of Telford, PA; and daughter, Julia D. Trumbore and husband, Jonathan of Harleysville, PA; his five grandsons – Derek Moyer and wife Samantha, Brett Moyer and wife Chelsea, Osmund Moyer and fiancée Kelsey Frankenfield, Andrew Trumbore, and Daniel Trumbore; his two granddaughters – Jenna Trumbore and Lauren Trumbore; his great-grandson, Jack Moyer; his great-granddaughter, Adley Moyer; his three sisters, Sarah Fisher of Telford, PA, Mary Jane Green and husband, Wayne of Wichita, KS, Loretta Moyer and husband, Larry of Telford, PA; his brother, Harold Moyer of Souderton, PA; his sister-in-law Sandy Fetterolf of Lake Havasu City, AZ and his two brothers-in-law, Monroe Miller of Goodville, PA and David Moyer of Mullinville, KS.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Laverne Moyer and five sisters, Evelyn Moyer, Grace Mininger, Elizabeth Miller, Lorene Maust and Susan Moyer. Also preceding him in death was one sister-in-law, Gladys Moyer and four brothers-in-law Ken Fetterolf, Walter Mininger, Walter Maust and Dick Fisher.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Indian Valley Faith Fellowship, 190 Maple Ave, Harleysville, Pennsylvania 19438 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am.
Inurnment will take place at Line Lexington Mennonite Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
