Mary Lou (Duffy) Genovese, a beloved mother, friend, aunt, and sister, unexpectedly departed from this world on January 27, 2023.

Born one of 10 children in Hatboro to Thomas and Bedelia Duffy, Mary Lou was always a positive influence on those around her. After graduating from Bishop McDevitt High School in 1964, Mary Lou continued her education while teaching grade school.  After moving to Hatfield, she raised her three children, Elena, Joan, and Richard. She loved music and dancing and shared that love and joy with her children from a young age.

When her children were older,  Mary Lou began working at State Optical where she excelled and eventually became Vice President of Sales. She was later recruited by Lens Crafters and became Regional Manager, overseeing multiple stores in the Philadelphia suburbs. Her naturally positive and fun-loving personality helped her achieve success as a professional and executive.

After retiring from a successful career, Mary Lou stayed active: walking, reading, and making sure her competitive spirit never waned with board games, puzzles, and word games. She was always the life of the party and a "fanatical fan" of Villanova basketball, Penn State football, and of course the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mary Lou's energy and loving spirit was truly contagious. She enjoyed spending quality time with those she loved in the Outer Banks, her favorite getaway. She spent hours hanging at the beach and laughing with her beloved son-in-law Steve, her favorite nieces Kristy and Jenny, and her family and friends.

Mary Lou lived a full life and leaves a great legacy, but she will be missed dearly by the many who love her. However, we can all take comfort in knowing that she is now with the Lord, dancing on the clouds, laughing with the angels, and greeting St. Peter with a high five and a "Go Birds!"
