Mary E. (Landis) Leatherman , 84, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 26, 2026, at her residence.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late William C. Leatherman, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. She was born in Harleysville, Pennsylvania, to the late Dayton C. Landis and the late Mattie H. (Landes) Landis.

She was a graduate of Christopher Dock Mennonite High School, Lansdale, Class of 1959, and went on to graduate from the Grand View Hospital School of Nursing in Sellersville in 1962. She took great pride in her work in Maternity, where she was known as the department's main scheduler and affectionately nicknamed "Let's Make a Deal Mary."

Mary was a faithful and active member of Doylestown Mennonite Church, where she served in the prayer ministry, was a former Sunday School teacher and youth advisor, and worked in childcare for Mom's Morning Out. She also served as a board member of Rockhill Mennonite Community (now known as The Community at Rockhill).

Mary, also known as 'Babs' by her loving family, found deep joy in cooking for family and friends, tending her garden, reading, and spending time playing games with her grandchildren. Above all, she cherished her roles as a devoted wife, mother, Nana, and friend. She will be lovingly remembered for her sincerity, kindness, generosity, gentle spirit, and her remarkable ability to listen and care deeply for those around her.

She is survived by her three daughters: Victoria Kim Leatherman of Palatine, IL; Jennifer B. Gidley of Doylestown, PA; and Bonnie Sue Leatherman of Doylestown, PA; and her four grandchildren: Morgan Park & husband, Nick of Denver, CO; Alex Park of Palatine, IL; Mia Gidley of Doylestown, PA; and Noah Gidley of Doylestown, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her two sons, Douglas W. Leatherman and Michael James Leatherman, and her seven siblings: Stanton Landis, Heber Landis, Minerva Godshall, Henry Landis, Floyd Landis, Dayton Landis, Jr., and Mark Landis.
