Mary E.
Szakacs
May 5, 1960 — Jul 1, 2021
With sadness in our hearts, we mourn the passing of our sister Mary E. Szakacs, 61, who went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at her residence in Lansdale, PA.
Mary was born in Doylestown, PA to the late James Szakacs and Irene (Bencsik) Szakacs.
A graduate of Central Bucks West class of 1978, she attained an associate's degree in business administration. Mary was employed for many years in the pharmaceutical industry as a Clinical Data Analyst and was dedicated to helping others achieve positive health outcomes through research.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, including her nieces and nephews. A devoted animal lover, Mary was a terrific caretaker to her fur babies, especially her cherished cat and best friend, Lucy. She enjoyed traveling, particularly to Florida's west coast and Hawaii. Mary found beauty in all things, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good joke "LOL." She found solace in reading the Bible, meeting others in the faith community and continually expressed her love to everyone. The time she spent in our lives was memorable and full of joy. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her brother, Steve S. Szakacs and his wife Marjorie of Doylestown, PA; her three sisters, Julia A. Kollar of North Wales, PA, Barbara I. Lipson and her husband Harvey of Chalfont, PA, Donna E. White of Colmar, PA, and nieces and nephews Brian, Marty, and Danny; Mandy (Gene) and Josh (Georgie); Michael; Amy (Patrick), E.J., Owen, Daniel, Florence, Lyla, and Seamus.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother James R. Szakacs and her brother-in-law T. Wayne White.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 10:00 am at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964. Inurnment will take place immediately following at Hillside Cemetery, N. Second St., Souderton, PA 18964.
