Melody Lynne (Beer) Reed , 63, of Telford, PA; formerly of Hilltown & Perkasie, PA went home to be with the lord on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

She was the loving wife of Jeffrey S. Reed for 43 years. Mel was born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania and, by the grace of God, was adopted at 3 days old by the late Martin "Marty" W. Beer and the late Cora L. Beer.

She graduated from Pennridge High School, class of 1978 and went on to attend Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, PA. Melody was employed as a caretaker at various hospitals and nursing homes for over 30 years before pursuing her certification as a medical biller and coder. She was a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders.

She was a former member of Hilltown Baptist Church where she served as a leader of Explorer Girls as well as volunteering with Vacation Bible School. She was a current member of Renew Bible Church of Perkasie.

She loved her church camping group, spending time in Spruce Lake and Avalon, as well as Greenwood Hills Bible Camp in Fayetteville, PA and Harvey Cedars Bible Conference in Harvey Cedars, NJ. Melody embodied fellowship wherever she went, always bringing a warmth and beaming smile to any occasion. She could make anyone feel at home with her contagious laughter that often crescendoed into guffaws and tears.

Melody would say she was born to be a mother. Her empathy and compassionate nature made her a beacon to her children as well as the many "strays" who were often in and out of her kitchen and home. Mel loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She taught homeschool and later became a class favorite chaperone on many school trips. Known as Gramcracker and Mimi to her smallest admirers, her grandchildren, the love she unconditionally gave to them will be with them for life.

In addition to her husband Jeff, Mel lives on through her four children. Jessica L. Huth & husband Carl Huth of Etters, PA, Launa K. Reed of Philadelphia, PA, Justin S. Reed & wife Nichel of Silverdale, PA, and Lindsey Mettin & husband Ryan of Ottsville, PA; Her five grandchildren, Jacob, Dalton, Penelope, Jeremy, & Nila Marti; Her two sisters, Linda Pongracz of Troy, MO and Janice Boonbanjerdsri & husband Suchat of Bangkok, Thailand; Her brother Robert "Bob" Pongracz & wife Patti of Topton, PA; Sister-in-law Mary Pongracz of Paoli, PA, several nieces and nephews and innumerable friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and by her brother Doug Pongracz.

A celebration of Melody's Life will be held on April 6, 2024 at 2pm.
