Obituary

Mildred "Mil" (Haas) Gerhart , 75, of Lansdale, PA; formerly of Hatfield, PA & Kulpsville, PA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Grand View Hospital.

Mildred was the loving wife of the late Russell "Russ" Gerhart for 40 years. She was born in Sellersville, PA to the late Jacob O. Haas and the late Irene (Benner) Haas.

Mildred graduated from Pennridge High School, class of 1967.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mildred worked as a seamstress for her neighbor, as a secretary for a local business in Lansdale, and lastly as a sales associate for Kohl's in Lansdale and for the former Dress Barn in Lansdale.

She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and as a keyholder and wellness checker for Derstine Run 1 in Hatfield, PA.

Mildred was a member of Souderton Mennonite Church.

She loved shopping, traveling, crocheting, cardinals, playing cards, and BINGO.

Mildred was a caring, helpful, loving, sweet woman who had a bubbly personality and was generous with her time.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy L. Spendiff & husband, Jeffery of Vineland, NJ; her son, Brian C. Russell & wife, Kristen of Telford, PA; her six grandchildren – Colin Russell, Melanie Spendiff, Nicholas Spendiff, Jason Spendiff, Grace Russell, Brady Russell; her four sisters, Gladys Smith & husband, John of Hatfield, PA, Lorraine Mininger & husband, Les of Pennsburg, PA, Dolly Schroy of Quakertown, PA, Helen Allison & husband, Don of Quakertown, PA; and her 3 nieces and 3 nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her former husband, William C. Russell and her brother-in-law, Mike Schroy.

A private inurnment will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
