Obituary

Nancy W. (McGrath) McCabe , 94, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Linwood, NJ and more recently Harleysville, PA passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Souderton Mennonite Homes.

Nancy was born on May 10, 1929 in Conshohocken, PA to the late James McGrath and the late Anna (McNamara) McGrath. She was the devoted wife of the late William G. McCabe for almost 57 years until his death in July 2008.

Nancy attended St. Matthew's Roman Catholic School in Conshohocken, PA. She was a tireless worker who was employed as a Clerical Professional for Prudential Insurance Company in Linwood, NJ for many years.

A spirited wife, mother and grandmother, she spent many days on the beach in Longport, NJ and also fishing and boating in Great Egg Harbor Bay. Nancy was an avid sports fan who closely followed many local sports teams, most importantly the Philadelphia Phillies. She loved riding bicycles on the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk and playing BINGO. Nancy also enjoyed knitting and caring for many pet dogs throughout her life.

She is survived by a son, Kevin W. McCabe and his wife Jennifer of Somers Point, NJ and a daughter, Michele A. (McCabe) Finger and her husband Brian of Souderton, PA. Nancy has seven grandchildren, Kaeley McCabe Vassallo of Perkasie, PA, William McCabe of Wayne, PA, Samuel McCabe of Somers Point, NJ, Makena Finger of Portland, Oregon, Delainey Finger, Riley Finger and Timothy Finger all of Souderton, PA.  She also has one great-granddaughter, Maeve Vassallo of Perkasie, PA.

In addition to her husband William, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael G. McCabe, a son, Patrick G. McCabe, brothers, Donald McGrath and Edward McGrath and a sister, Jean Donnelly.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Pomfret Manor Cemetery and Crematories, 900 Packer Street, Sunbury, PA 17801.

A Celebration of Life Open House will take place on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 1-5 pm at the family's home at 115 West Summit Street, Souderton, PA.  A special time of sharing and reflection will begin at 2:30 pm.
