Obituary

Nancy V. (Hunsberger) Souder , 92, of Scranton, Pennsylvania, formerly of Souderton, Pennsylvania, and Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Gino J. Merli Veterans' Center.

She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Leon Souder, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage. Born in Ambler, Pennsylvania, Nancy was the daughter of the late Chief Paul Alderfer Hunsberger and Vera Adelle (Murray) Hunsberger.

Nancy attended Souderton Area High School and later earned her GED. Throughout her working years, she was employed as a cashier at the former Daub's Market in Souderton. She later worked for 17 years as a packager at the former Ametek Hunter Spring in Hatfield and continued her career as a packager at Stein Seal in Kulpsville until her retirement in 1996. Following retirement, Nancy devoted herself to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was a former member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Souderton, where she volunteered in the church library. At the time of her passing, she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Telford.

Nancy enjoyed quilting, crocheting, embroidery, camping, and spending time at the Jersey Shore. She cherished her years in Florida, where she made many dear friends and embraced retirement life. While living there, she volunteered at a quilt shop and enjoyed teaching others the art of quilting. An avid reader, Nancy also looked forward to her regular visits to the hair salon.

Known for her strong work ethic, cheerful spirit, and quiet strength, Nancy was deeply devoted to her family. She will be remembered as a loving and faithful wife, a caring mother, and a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother.

Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Donna K. Krahling and her husband, Robert "Bob," of Buffalo, New York, and Carol Lynne Farrell and her husband, Joseph "Joe," of Quakertown, Pennsylvania; her six grandchildren, Christel Astin and her husband, Jarad, Damon Rice and his wife, Melissa, Kimberly Landis and her husband, Andrew, Scott Oakley and his companion, Jacqueline, Krista, Sarah Richardson, and Robert Krahling, Jr. and his wife, Bethany; her twelve great-grandchildren, Arden, Becca, Ethan, Talim, Riley, Blake, Bentley, Keiran, Sophia, Galilee, Ezra, and Shiloh.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her three brothers, John "Jack" Kayser, Chief Paul Hunsberger, and Robert Hunsberger; her sister, Susan Welsh, her sisters-in-law, Betty Kayser, Irene Hunsberger, and Lillian Hunsberger.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler, Pennsylvania.
