Nancy Helen (Ashcroft) Worthington, 91, of Laureldale, Pennsylvania, formerly of Cobleskill, New York, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Laureldale Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Robert G. Worthington, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Frank L. Ashcroft and the late Gladys A. (Schultz) Ashcroft.

Nancy graduated from high school in Philadelphia and continued her education at The King’s College in Briarcliff Manor, New York, where she earned her bachelor’s degree.

Throughout her life, Nancy devoted herself to her family, her faith, education, and service to others. She worked as a substitute teacher in the Bristol School District, a secretary for Center Valley Pool Company, and a fourth-grade teacher at Faith Christian Academy in Sellersville. She later taught at a private school in Sumter, South Carolina. In Cobleskill, New York, she faithfully served alongside her husband in his ministry as pastor’s wife at Valley Bible Baptist Church.

Nancy was a former member of Faith Baptist Church (now known as Faith Church of Sellersville) and was deeply committed to her Christian faith and to participating in church ministries. Her love for the Lord was evident in her daily life, and she treasured reading her Bible and serving others.

Nancy and Robert shared a deep and loving bond, and she was devoted to supporting him in his many interests. She especially looked forward to their yearly vacations at The Wilds Christian Camp in Taylors, North Carolina. Nancy was a loving, faithful, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker, and she will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her warm, caring spirit.

She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, history, playing the piano, and attending stock car races. She had a particular love for animals, especially her chickens, and found great joy in caring for them. Above all, Nancy treasured her family and the time she spent with those she loved.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Joyce C. Casteldine of Greenville, South Carolina; her son, Scott B. Worthington and his wife, Thelma, of Sellersville, Pennsylvania; and her daughter-in-law, Beth Watson of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren: Brian, Sarah, Graham, Emmett, Evan, and Clayton Worthington; Crystal, Robert, Sharon and Cheryl Worthington; and Travis, Seanna, Jesse, Trevor, and Chadd Casteldine, along with their spouses and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Robert, Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Robert A. Worthington, and her sister, Lois M. Ashcroft.

A viewing will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Rosedale Memorial Park, 3850 Richlieu Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
