Norah (Avenick) McMahon , 77, of Sellersville, formerly of Havertown, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, PA.
She was the loving wife of Robert Owen McMahon, Sr. for 49 years. Norah was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Charles S. and Eleanor (Ragan) Avenick.
She graduated from Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School class of 1961 and attended West Chester University, West Chester, PA. Throughout her working life time she was employed by Philadelphia Insurance Companies retiring in 2009.
Norah was a Cubs Scout's Den Leader, Havertown, PA. a volunteer for St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Drexel Hill, PA, Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) during 80's. She was also active with the PTA, Haverford Twp, School District.
She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Drexel Hill, PA.
Norah was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. She and her husband, Bob enjoyed traveling in United States, especially to Cape Cod.
In addition to her husband, Bob, she is survived by her son, Robert O. McMahon Jr. and wife Jennifer of Royersford, PA and her daughter, Stacey McLaughlin and husband David of Sellersville, PA; her three grandchildren, Emilie, Matthew and Jonathan; her two brothers, Charles Avenick II and wife Carol of Southampton, NJ, Paul Avenick of Cross Fork, PA. Also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Avenick.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Burial will take place at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
