Obituary

Priscilla (Oberholser) Keeler , aged 88, of Telford, Pennsylvania, and formerly of West Chester and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the Lutheran Community at Telford.

Priscilla was the loving wife of the late Daniel Keeler for 59 years. Born in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Christian Oberholser and Miriam (Wenger) Oberholser.

A graduate of Messiah Academy in 1952, Priscilla worked as a telephone operator for the United Telephone Company and the Crippled Children's Hospital in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. She also had her own cleaning business for local residents for many years and assisted her husband in his work at Keeler Signs.

A faithful member of Spring Mount Mennonite Church, she served as a visitation elder. Prior to that she was a member of Frazer Mennonite Church, Frazer, Pennsylvania. Priscilla also served in voluntary service with the Mennonite Central Committee from 1958-1959 in Smithville, Ohio. Later in life she volunteered at Care & Share Thrift Shoppes.

Priscilla was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her delicious sour cherry pies. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and freezing, and spent her leisure time embroidering, crocheting, and sewing.

She is survived by her two daughters, Janice King and husband Barry of Elkton, Virginia, and Kathleen Fretz and husband William of Harleysville, Pennsylvania; her grandson, Christopher Fretz of New York City, New York, and granddaughter, Heather Fretz and wife Sarah Morann of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Priscilla is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Hoover of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Myrtle McCleary of York, Pennsylvania, and Fern Hock of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; her brothers, Christian Oberholser of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Konrad Oberholser and wife Goldie of Boswell, Pennsylvania, and John Oberholser and wife Laura of Lodi, California; and her sister-in-law, Connie Oberholser of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. In addition to her husband, Daniel, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Karl and Kenneth Oberholser.

A memorial service for Priscilla will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11:00 at the Lutheran Community Chapel, 12 Lutheran Home Drive, Telford, Pennsylvania 18969. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 to 11:00. Those planning to attend need to register at the Healthcare Pavilion and then may proceed to the chapel.

Private inurnment will take place at Salford Mennonite Cemetery.
