Ralph C. Alderfer , 82, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Salford, PA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Souderton Mennonite Homes.

He was the loving husband of Doris S. Kolb for 2 years. Ralph was born in Sellersville, PA to the late Isaiah L. Alderfer and the late Lavina (Clemens) Alderfer.

He graduated from Christopher Dock Mennonite High School in Lansdale, PA, class of 1958.  Ralph then graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA, class of 1963 & University of Iowa in Iowa City, class of 1967.

Ralph was employed as a Music & Math Teacher for Iowa Mennonite High School for 3 years & Christopher Dock Mennonite High School for 19 years. He was also a self-employed painter and paperhanger over a period of 30+ years.

He was a member of Ambler Mennonite Church where he served as a Member of the Ministry Team, Chair of the Worship Commission and a song leader.

Ralph was the Conductor of the Franconia Lancaster Choral Singers since 1995. He was also a Board Member of the Lansdale Community Concerts.

Ralph had a great passion for music which he expressed through conducting, teaching, song leading, and attending concerts. His other interests include: watching the news and TV sports, reading, and planning family vacations.

Ralph was a man of few words who exemplified integrity, humility, Christian service, and a love for all people.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children: Daniel L. Alderfer & wife, Alicia of Schwenksville, PA, Cindy D. Derstine & husband, Ray of Harleysville, PA, Rhonda R. Alderfer & husband, Joseph Tedesco of Long Beach, NY, Mark T. Alderfer & wife, Denise of Souderton, PA, Denise A. Koch & husband, Tom of Harleysville, PA; his 15 grandchildren – Corrine, Trent, Jackie, Krissie, Sara, Hannah, Jordan, Evan, Bailey, Lindsey, Jesse, Cassie, Alexis, Ella & Leila; his seven great-grandchildren – Luc, Grayson, Aiden, Oliver, Elias, Avery, & Wesley; his three sisters, Rhoda Benner & husband, Gerald of Souderton, PA, Lois Zook & husband, Mervin of Millersville, PA, Rachel Hartzler & husband, Bruce of Mount Gilead, OH, and his brother, David Alderfer & wife, Maryann of Broomall, PA.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his step-mother, Irene B. Alderfer and his 1 ^st wife, Doris (Long) Alderfer.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Towamencin Mennonite Church, 1980 Sumneytown Pike, Kulpsville, PA 19443 from 9:30 am - 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. The services will be livestreamed. Click here to join the livestream.

Burial will take place at Towamencin Mennonite Cemetery.
