Reuben Diller Anders, 93, of Sarasota, FL; formerly of Langhorne, PA went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 7, 2020.

He was the loving husband of the late Margaret "Sis" Mae Anders and Florence M. (Wagner) Anders of Sarasota, FL. Reuben was born in Souderton, PA to the late Alvin F. Anders and the late Lydia (Diller) Anders.

In 1954, he worked as a dairy farmer in Doylestown and was crippled by the Polio virus during the epidemic. In 1956, due to health issues, Reuben moved to Bristol, FL to work on his poultry farm. In 1959, he returned to Pennsylvania to work as a dairy farmer in Plumsteadville, PA. In 1960, Reuben moved his dairy farm in Yardley, PA. In 1971, he moved to Tyburn Road in Morrisville and began R. Anders Sanitation which he continued with his family for the next 30 years. In 1977, Reuben moved his business to Langhorne to live his dream home, an 1859 homestead. In 1995, he retired from the business and moved to the Pinecraft area in Sarasota, FL where he enjoyed "spending the kid's inheritances".

Reuben was a member of the Souderton Mennonite Church and attended Groveland Mennonite Church, Doylestown Mennonite Church, Calvary Church of Souderton, and Sarasota Community Church (formerly known as Bahia Vista Mennonite Church).

He was a member of the National Farmer's Organization and a past-president of the local chapter in the Bucks-Montgomery area. Reuben was also a member of the PA Independent Waste Haulers Association in the Lower Bucks area, the Newtown Lodge No. 427 F&AM, and the Sahib Shriners in Sarasota, FL.

After retirement, he served with Mennonite Disaster Service twice in Greensburg, KS and once in Delzura, CA. Reuben was a co-founder of the WORM Project. He also supported several missionaries including Charles Kalula and his family in Uganda where they started a ministry school.

When asked Reuben's occupation, he would reply, "I am a "garbologist." He enjoyed bowling, playing bocce ball, and tending his garden on his property. Reuben also enjoyed antique cars such as his Model A, Model T, and 1931 Packard. At the age of 80, he took flying lessons. Reuben loved traveling in his motor home (RV) throughout the US. He traveled extensively through Europe, especially Germany & Switzerland multiple times. Reuben enjoyed taking cruises, wintering in Florida, and day trips to Lancaster. Known as the "roadrunner," he was always on the go where he could be found "anywhere but home."

Reuben was a very hardworking man who was generous with his time and money. He had a good sense of humor, loved spending time with his family, and dedicated his life to serving the Lord.

In addition to his wife, Reuben is survived by his seven children, Larry L. Anders & wife, Joyce of Souderton, PA, J. Renee Benner of Souderton, PA, M. Dolores Ziaylek & husband, Theodore of Yardley, PA, J. Thomas Anders & wife, Cheryl of Langhorne, PA, Rebecca Ann Smith & husband, Richard of Morrisville, PA; his daughter-in-law, Donna Lee Anders of Washington Crossing, PA; his 10 grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Margaret "Peg" Freed of Souderton, PA, Fannie "Fran" Delp & husband, Joseph of St. Augustine, FL; his brother, A. Dale Anders of Rushville, IL; his four step-sons, David L. Sechrist of Elkhart, IN, Mark E. Sechrist of Sacramento, CA, Paul A. Sechrist & wife, Bing of South Barrington, IL, Glenn I. Sechrist of Sacramento, CA; his 11 step-grandchildren; his nine step-great-grandchildren; and his five step-great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his 1st wife, he was preceded in death by his two sons, Reuben Phillip Anders & John Ivan Anders; his son-in-law, Ralph N. Benner; his brother, Levi Anders; and his step-son, John A. Sechrist.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place at Newtown Cemetery.
