Robert Owen McMahon , 78, of Lansdale, formerly of Sellersville, PA passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Traditions Senior Living of Lansdale.

He was the loving husband of the late Norah (Avenick) McMahon for 49 years. Bob was born in Wilkes Barre, PA to the late James Jerome McMahon, M.D. and the late Celestine (Collins) McMahon.

A graduate of St. Mary's High School, Wilkes Barre, PA class of 1960, he then attended Kings College, Wilkes Barre for 2 years. Bob was employed in the department of Loss Control for Equifax Insurance, Philadelphia, PA, and later retired in 2007 from Bryn Mawr Trust, in Wayne, PA. He served as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

He was a member of the Mainliners Barber Shop Chorus, coached for Llanerch Hills Little League Baseball, Drexel Hill, PA and enjoyed many trips to Cape Cod with his family.

He is survived by his son, Robert Owen McMahon Jr. wife Jennifer of Royersford, PA; his daughter, Stacey Anne McLaughlin husband David of Sellersville, PA; his three grandchildren, Emilie, Matthew and Jonathan. Also survived by his niece, Aline McMahon.

In addition to his wife, Norah he was preceded in death by his brother, James Jerome McMahon, Jr.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm and on Thursday from 9:00 am - 10:00 am. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 10:00 am.

Inurnment and Military Honors will take place immediately following the memorial service on Thursday at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Broomall, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Luzerne County Historical Society, 49 South Franklin St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
