Robert "Bob" Lee Patterson, Sr., 88 , of Lansdale, PA; formerly of Hendersonville, NC & Harleysville, PA went home to be with the Lord on August 16, 2021.  He was a resident at Dock Terrace, a Living Branches Community.

He was the loving husband of the late Barbara Fay Patterson for 44 years and of the late Margaret Moellenbrock Patterson for 20 years.

Robert was born in Providence, Kentucky to the late Clarence O. Patterson and the late Ruby (Dortch) Patterson Leon.  He graduated in 1951 from Avalon High School in Pittsburgh, PA where he played football and basketball.  He went on to serve his country from 1951 to 1955 by enlisting in the Air Force.  During that time he would acquire his future trade in mechanical and computer engineering.

Over the next 44 years Robert, his wife Barbara, and their 4 sons would move as his employment required.  They lived in Georgia, Pittsburgh, Chicago, France, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Michigan. He then took a position in Management, Sales, Service, Customer Relations, Product Planning and Manufacturing for Mohawk Data Sciences in New York.  In 1973, Robert moved his family to Harleysville, PA when he accepted a position at Sperry Rand Corporation/Univac/Unisys Corporations in their World Wide Marketing Department. Two months after Robert's retirement in 1997, his wife Barbara passed away.  To help fill the void in his life, Bob took up golfing, gardening and attending Bible study at Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church where the family had attended.

In 1999, while attending a class reunion in Myrtle Beach, SC, Bob would be reunited with his high school sweetheart, Margaret Moellenbrock. They married a few months later and he moved to Hendersonville, NC to join his new bride.  They enjoyed traveling, gardening, spending time with friends and were very active in serving at their church, Lutheran Church of the Nativity in Arden, NC.  The couple moved to Living Branches Community of Lansdale, PA the summer of 2017 to be closer to family.  Robert was a very attentive and loving husband to Margaret.  Her health declined and she passed away in February of 2020.

Robert is survived by his sons, Robert Jr. & wife, Cathe of Telford, PA; Richard & wife, Renee of Telford, PA; David & wife, Beth Anne of West Hurley, NY; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jane Emery and her husband, Joe of Florida; and Margaret's surviving family, Rebecca Smith of Greenwood, SC; Maria Harrington & husband, Kevin of Saint Charles, IL; a step-son, William Morgenroth Jr. of South Carolina; 5 step-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Elizabeth Morgan of Florida.

In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald Patterson; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Harry Black; step-daughter, Amy Gery; step-son-in-law, AD Smith and brother-in-law, Lloyd Morgan.

A private graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Kulpsville, PA.
