Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Harold Booth, 90, of Quakertown, PA went home to be with His Lord on Holy Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Gwynedd Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center where he has resided since 2017.

Robert was born in Ellenville, NY on October 12, 1929. He was raised by his loving parents, the late Harold S. Booth and the late Muriel Dixon. He was the devoted husband of the late Jean (Crowell) Booth for 57 years until her death in 2013.

Robert graduated from Ellenville High School with the Class of 1947. In 1953, he obtained a BA in Missions from Providence Bible Institute, Providence, RI and earned his Bachelors of Divinity in 1956 from the Theological Seminary of Reformed Episcopal Church in Philadelphia, PA. In 1990, he was honored with the Doctorate of Divinity and appointed Bishop of World Missions for the Reformed Episcopal Church.

Robert started his ministry as Assistant Pastor at the Grace Reformed Episcopal Church, Collingdale, PA. Bishop and Mrs. Booth served with the Africa Inland Mission from 1958 to 1977 in Sudan, and Uganda. Their work included theological training for church leaders, organizing youth outreach for the Church of Uganda and language translation. In 1978, upon retiring from overseas mission work, he became the pastor of the Trinity Reformed Episcopal Church in Kensington, PA. Bishop and Mrs. Booth served the Kensington-Philadelphia community for 25 years. In his capacity of Bishop for World Missions, he traveled to oversea churches and missions in India, Germany, France, Liberia and Brazil until retiring from his duties in 2005.

Bishop and Mrs. Booth resided in Quakertown, PA from 2000-2017. They were an active and vital part of their community. They attended Emmanuel Reformed Episcopal Church in Pipersville, PA.

Bishop Booth was a friend and counselor to many around the world; a beacon of fun, laughter, conversation and song to others. He was always ready with stories, jokes, and a comforting word. He was a gifted singer and trombonist. His hobbies included collecting miniature cars and antique clocks. For his grandkids, He handmade doll-houses & log cabins. During his last two years at the Gywnedd Healthcare Center, he could be found walking the halls, greeting and cheering up his fellow residents. He was an enthusiastic participant in the center's activities and sing-a-longs. He enjoyed playing Bingo, Skippo, taking frequent trips to Dairy Queen, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth Tweedy & husband, Rev. Paul of Madison, IN, Carolyn Hammack & husband, Rev. Ronald of Philadelphia, PA; his son, Peter Booth & wife, Linda of Harleysville, PA; his brother, William Booth & wife, Josephine of St. Augustine, FL; his sister, Bonnie Booth Fischle of Summerville, SC. He is survived by his seven grandchildren, Lauren, Josiah, Joshua, Bethany, Cayla, Brittney and Andrew and his six great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Nathaniel, Samuel, Silas, Liam and soon-to-arrive Micah.

In addition to his beloved wife, Jean and his loving parents, Harold and Muriel, Robert was preceded in death by his dear grandson, Aaron Daniel Hammack.

A memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced. The internment will take place at Old Goshenhoppen Cemetery.
