Ruth C. (Sanders) Smith , 98, of Telford, PA; formerly of Montoursville, PA & Watsontown, PA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Lutheran Community at Telford.

She was the loving wife of the late Amos V. Smith Jr. for 37 years. Ruth was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Thomas A. Sanders, Sr. and the late Edna (Nace) Sanders.

She worked as a floor supervisor for the former Philco in Philadelphia, PA. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She attended Evangelical Friends Church (Quaker) in Williamsport, PA.

Ruth enjoyed crossword puzzles, bird watching, reading, crocheting. She loved spending time with her family.

Ruth was an honest, caring, forthright woman.

She is survived by her three children, Roy E. Smith of Forest Hills, NY, Jeanne L. Plymette & husband, Thomas of Collegeville, PA, Stephen A. Smith of Henrietta, NY; her grandson, Jeremy M. Plymette & husband, Brett Glowacki of Philadelphia, PA; her granddaughter-in-law, Jessica (Bonzo) Plymette of Ellicott City, MD; her two great-granddaughters, Claire E. Plymette of Ellicott City, MD & Isla W. G. Plymette of Philadelphia, PA; and her niece, Wendy Ruggeri of Naugatuck, CT.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Timothy S. Plymette; her granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Plymette; and her brother, Thomas A. Sanders, Jr.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Lutheran Community Chapel, 12 Lutheran Home Drive, Telford, PA 18969 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. When arriving, please check in at the Healthcare Center first. After checking in, we ask that you drive around to the back of the building where the chapel is located.

Inurnment will take place at Watsontown Cemetery.
