Ruth M. (Hallman) Hart , 92, of Richlandtown, PA; formerly of Doylestown, PA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center.
She was the loving wife of the late Walter B. Hart for 60 years. Ruth was born in Doylestown, PA to the late Russell Hallman and the late Florence (Moyer) Hallman.
She worked as laundress for the former Dutch Maid Laundry in Doylestown. Ruth then worked as a wood worker for the former John Knoells & Son in New Britain for more than 10 years.
She was a life member of Doylestown Mennonite Church where she served as a Sunday school and vacation Bible school teacher and was part of the ladies sewing circle. Ruth volunteered at the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes in Souderton.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and telling childhood stories of her life growing up on the farm. Ruth also loved reading to her grandchildren and taking annual family vacations in Canada where she spent time fishing. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her large vegetable garden and cross stitching. Ruth loved playing table games especially Dominoes. She enjoyed listening to church radio in the morning and their music throughout the day.
Ruth was a caring, compassionate, honest woman who had a good sense of humor and was very dedicated to her family and church.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen S. Garges & husband, Dean of Sellersville, PA; her granddaughter, Jessica L. Clarke & husband, Stephen of Perkasie, PA; her grandson, Christopher J. Gailey & wife, Kaitlyn of Sellersville, PA; her three great-grandchildren, Allison T. Clarke, Leah M. Clarke, & Tyler S. Clarke, all of Perkasie, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Sara Heacock, Catherine Heebner, and Eva Atkinson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 am at Doylestown Mennonite Church, 590 N. Broad St., Doylestown, Pennsylvania 18901 where friends may meet with the family following the service.
Inurnment will take place at Doylestown Mennonite Cemetery.
