Obituary

Ruth B. (Bryan) Kulp , 97, formerly of Doylestown, PA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Dock Woods.

She was the loving wife of the late Henry Austin Kulp for 54 years. Ruth was born in Plumstead Twp., PA to the late Howard F. Bryan and the late Aquilla (Shelly) Bryan.

She worked as a seamstress for the former Dublin Pants Factory. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked in the laundry department of Dock Woods Community. Later, Ruth worked as a caregiver for a private individual in their home.

She was a member of Deep Run Mennonite Church West where she served as a former Sunday school teacher. Ruth was a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Doylestown.

She loved spending time with her family and being part of family events. Ruth enjoyed annual family trips to the beach in Wildwood Crest, NJ. She also enjoyed extensive traveling with her late husband. Ruth was an avid reader of the Bible and novels. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, flowers, gardening, quilting, and sewing. Ruth also enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles.

She was an independent, strong, happy, caring, and compassionate woman.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen K. Allen of Upper Black Eddy, PA, Nancy K.  Rice & husband, John of Pipersville, PA; her son, James A. Kulp & wife, Donna of Hatfield, PA; her nine grandchildren – William II, Jonathan, Avery, Lora, Amanda, Rebecca, Jessica, Justin, & Daniel; her 13 great-grandchildren – Spencer, Brooke, Ashley, Wyatt, Georgia, Kendall, Madigan, Harper, Braden, Chase, Eleanor, Jack, & Austin; her brother, Howard Bryan, Jr. & wife, Dolores of Sellersville, PA; her sister-in-law, Joye Bryan of Perkasie, PA; and her brother-in-law, Harry Bennett of Doylestown, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, James Austin Kulp, Jr.; her five brothers, Chester, Robert, Claude, Floyd, & Elmer Bryan; and her four sisters, Pearl Opdyke, Marion Gross, Jane Grace, & Joan Bennett.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Deep Run Mennonite Church West, 1008 Deep Run Road, Perkasie, Pennsylvania 18944 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 pm.

Inurnment will take place at Deep Run West Mennonite Cemetery.
