Samuel T. Miller , 91, of Trumbauersville, PA; formerly of Blooming Glen, PA went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, PA.
He was the loving husband of Dolores M. (Geisler) Miller for 23 years. Sam was born in Perkasie, PA to the late Henry O. Miller and the late Edith (Trauger) Miller.
He graduated from Hilltown High School, class of 1948.
Sam began working as a farmhand for local area farmers. Sam worked as an on-site service mechanic for the former I.G. Rosenberger in Silverdale, PA and then worked at the former American Olean Tile Company in Lansdale, PA. He was the owner and operator of Sam Miller Tires in Blooming Glen, PA for many years. Sam then worked as a groundskeeper for the Saucon Valley Country Club in Center Valley, PA and lastly as a tire deliveryman for the former Lehigh Tire Company (now known as Jack Williams) in Freemansburg, PA.
He attended Faith Free Church in Trexlertown, PA where he served with his wife in the kitchen, Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship in Allentown, PA and currently Saucon Mennonite Church in Coopersburg, PA.
Sam was an avid reader of Christian books, and books about the Amish way of life. He enjoyed lawn work, flower and vegetable gardening, canning and freezing, and going to auctions for Christians charities including his favorite, Gospel Express. Sam loved going with his wife to gospel hymn sings at Milford Park, Waldheim, and other locations and on Sundays they often went for a drive to see the countryside. He also loved being outdoors in nature; sometimes on a golf course.
Sam was a hardworking, generous, social man who was always willing to help others. He worked with his hands all his life and found value in working faster and harder to complete the task at hand.
In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by his two daughters, Linda J. Miller & husband, Kenneth Redles of Coopersburg, PA, Janice R. Zuck & husband, Raymond of Quakertown, PA; his two sons, Preston H. Miller & wife, Patsy, Perkasie, PA, Steven D. Miller & wife, Lynn of Perkasie, PA; his 19 grandchildren his 30 great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Harold Yoder & wife, Josephine of Landisville, PA. Also survived by his son-in-law, Joel Kolb, Pottstown, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former Wife, Eleanor A. Miller; his daughter, Heidi Charlene Kolb; his three sisters, Alma Miller, Ruth Yoder, & Miriam Brunstetter; and his brother-in-law, Fred Brunstetter.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964 from 10:00 am - 11:30 am, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:30 am.
Burial will take place at Deep Run Mennonite Cemetery East.
