T. Carroll Moyer , a longtime resident of Perkasie and most recently of Rockhill Mennonite Community in Sellersville, passed away on January 8, 2022, at the age of 97.

He was the husband of Verda (Good) Moyer, the couple having celebrated their 64 ^th wedding anniversary on August 14, 2018. Prior to their Pennsylvania residence, they lived for eight years in Champaign, Illinois.

Carroll was born in Silverdale on August 4, 1924, the son of the late Theodore F. and Lucy Ann (Moyer) Moyer.

Graduating from Sell-Perk High School with the Class of 1942, Carroll continued his education at Goshen College, earning his BA degree from there in 1950. He completed his Master's Degree at Lehigh University, having also studied at the University of Illinois, Kutztown University, and Temple University.

He began his teaching career at Fisher Community High School, Fisher, IL, where he was a highly respected English teacher and Director of Dramatics from 1950 to 1961. In September, 1961, he began teaching at Christopher Dock High School, Lansdale, PA, where he served in various teaching and administrative capacities throughout the years until his retirement in 1991. In 1974 his teaching skills were recognized, receiving an Outstanding Educator of America award. Most recently, he served as the Resource Center Librarian at the Mennonite Conference Center, Souderton, until 2007.

Mr. Moyer was a member of the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church for more than 75 years. At various points of his life he served there as a Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, elder, deacon, member of church council, church choir member, and used his talents in writing litanies and other worship materials. He also served on several conference-wide organizations and for many years wrote the Blooming Glen church column for the nationally distributed Mennonite Weekly Review.

In addition to his career and church interests, Carroll enjoyed and participated in various classical music groups in Illinois and locally, as well as in traditional church music, writing, and reading a wide variety of books, reading approximately a book per week in his retirement. He likewise was an avid Phillies fan, having been present at the game in 1980 in which the Phillies won that World Series.

Surviving is one son, Lon and his wife, Stacy of Mocksville, NC and one granddaughter, Samantha Maddox and her husband Christopher of Lewisville, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife Verda, two brothers J. Edward Moyer and his wife Frances; and LeRoy M. Moyer, and by two sisters, Jeanette M. Tyson and her husband, Millard and LaRue M. Moyer.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 am, at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road; Blooming Glen, Pennsylvania 18911, where friends may meet with the family beginning at 10:00 am until time of service.

Burial will take place at Blooming Glen Mennonite Cemetery Columbarium.
