Theresa A. (Minio) Newmyer , 78, of Souderton, Pennsylvania, formerly of Perkasie, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
She was the beloved wife of Thomas B. Newmyer, with whom she shared 30 years of marriage. Born in Abington, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore Frank Minio and Thomasine (Pucci) Minio.
Theresa was a graduate of Wissahickon High School in Ambler, Class of 1966, and later earned an associate degree in Business from Gwynedd Mercy University.
She dedicated many years of her career to professional service. From the 1970s through the early 1990s, she worked as a secretary for Honeywell Inc. in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. In the mid-1990s, she was employed as a sales clerk with Jenny Craig Weight Loss in North Wales. In 1997, she began working in personnel training at Merck Sharp & Dohme, also in North Wales, where she remained until her retirement in 2010.
Theresa was a devoted member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Hatfield, Pennsylvania.
She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who cherished time spent with family and friends. She especially enjoyed trips to the beach—most notably Cape May and Ocean City, New Jersey. Theresa also found joy in playing Mahjongg with friends, completing crossword puzzles and Sudoku, and attending and performing at community theater performances, particularly those at Playcrafters of Skippack.
Theresa was known for her strong work ethic, generous spirit, caring nature, and warm sense of humor.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Jeffrey L. Minio and his wife, Kerry, of Souderton; her granddaughter, Alexis F. Minio of Souderton; her grandson, Tyler L. Minio of Souderton; her sisters, Marion Freeman of Fort Washington, and Josephine Rich of Marlton, NJ; her brother, Nicholas Minio and his wife, Sandy, of Collegeville; her four nephews, Scott Buell and his wife, Julie of Marlton, NJ, Mark Buell and wife, Deverly of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Gary Minio of Clifton Township, PA, Keith Minio and his wife, Jennifer of Lansdale, PA; her niece, Lisa Adams and her husband, Daryn of Ambler, PA; and several great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers-in-law, Harris Freeman and Theodore Rich.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, PA 19440, followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
