Thomas J. Mazurek, 77, long time resident of Sellersville, PA formerly of Doylestown, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 24th, 2020 at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, PA. Tom was the loving husband of Mollie (Basler) Mazurek for 52 years and a devoted father of two daughters Liberty M. Mazurek & Laura I. Mazurek both of Bucks County.

Tom was born on March 6, 1943 in New York City to the late Albin Mazurek and his wife Liberty Theresa (Scime) Mazurek. In addition to his parents, Tom's recent passing was also preceded in death by his two siblings; his brother, Albert J. Mazurek and his sister, Lillian A.Tesi.

A graduate from Immaculata High School in New York City, class of 1961 Tom subsequently completed a BA degree in History at St. John's University, Jamaica, NY, earning an MA degree in Modern European History at Penn State University, University Park, PA and a JD degree at Temple University Law School, Philadelphia, PA. He also spent two years as a postgraduate research fellow at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Scotland where he worked with noted historians Denys Hay and V.G. Kiernan.

For over 47 years Tom enjoyed a very successful career as a College Professor employed at Bucks County Community College in Newtown, PA where he was highly regarded for how much he cared about the education and success of all his students. Tom was a greatly respected and well esteemed member of the Social and Behavioral Sciences department at the College. Throughout his tenure, Tom taught a broad range of courses some of which included but were not limited to American History, Western Civilization, Humanities, Russian History and Labor History. During his employment at Bucks County Community College Tom also developed five Integration of Knowledge courses and team taught these courses with other faculty from varied disciplines. For many years, Tom was also an active participant in the work of several key faculty-administration committees on campus. Although Tom retired from full-time teaching in 2017, while in retirement and up to the time of his death, Tom continued to take an active part in education by teaching Online American History classes. Other professional activities in which he maintained an active membership also included the American Federation of Teachers Local #2238, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Historical Association.

Devoted to his family, friends, and his teaching career Tom also enjoyed a wide variety of interests over the years which included; gardening, cooking, classical music, the arts, travel and politics. In addition to his wife Mollie, Tom is also survived by his two daughters Liberty M. Mazurek and Laura I. Mazurek.
