Virginia "Ginny" Renee (Deibert) Cole , 85, of Lansdale, PA; formerly of Ivyland, PA stepped into Heaven to be with the Lord on Monday, January 1, 2024 at Dock Woods Community.
She was the loving wife of Forrest Frederick Cole for 61 years. Ginny was born in Danville, PA to the late Earl Melroy Deibert and the late Helen Evangeline (Lanning) Deibert.
She graduated from Danville High School, class of 1956, and graduated from Bloomsburg University with a bachelor's degree in education.
Ginny was employed as a second-grade teacher at Upper Moreland School District and a substitute teacher and private tutor for the Council Rock School District in Newtown, PA.
Over the years, she was a member of Johnsville Reformed Church, Memorial Baptist Church, and Souderton Mennonite Church, where she served as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, leader of ladies Bible studies, and leader of neighborhood CEF Good News Clubs.
Ginny was passionate about pursuing Jesus, studying the Bible, and was a dedicated prayer warrior. She led hundreds of people to the Lord over her lifetime.
Ginny played the piano, ukulele, and sang alto in the church choir. She was a gifted artist using pastels, oils, acrylics, and watercolors. Ginny was a published author specializing in poetry. She was an avid letter writer, encouraging family and friends. Ginny brought laughter to many, performing comedy sketches and skits in community talent shows. She was a lover of nature and all things outdoors, enjoying the family cottage in Canada, boating, fishing, hiking, and camping.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Grindrod & husband, Brian of Chester, NH, Wendy Laverty & husband, James of Lancaster, PA; her three grandchildren – Lindsey Laverty, Spencer Grindrod, & Amanda Grindrod; and her two sisters, Lola Jean Glass of Doylestown PA, and Lori Bodenhorn of Palmyra PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Emilee Laverty.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Souderton Mennonite Church, 105 W. Chestnut Street, Souderton, PA 18964.
Inurnment will take place at Souderton Mennonite Church Memorial Garden.
