Wanda J. (Reiff) Schirmer , 70, of Lansdale, PA formerly of Skippack, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia.
She was the loving wife of William G. Schirmer for 40 years. Wanda was born in Lansdale, PA to the late Wilbur K. Reiff and the late Arlene D. (Moyer) Reiff.
A graduate of Perkiomen Valley High School, class of 1972, she received her BA in Home Economics/Dietetics from Messiah College in 1977.
Wanda was employed as a Secretary/Administrator for Unisys Corporation in Blue Bell for 25 years, as a Labelling Technician for six years at Teva Pharmaceuticals in North Wales, and as a Cashier for nine years at Weis Supermarket in Lansdale, retiring in 2024.
She was a member of Towamencin Mennonite Church in Kulpsville PA and a former member of Grace Mennonite Church, Lansdale PA. She was active as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir/praise and worship team, and a VBS teacher in both congregations.
She enjoyed singing in the choir, gardening, reading, vacationing in Ocean City New Jersey and Berne Indiana with family, and cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies & Eagles. She loved cats and adopted several over her lifetime, and she loved spending time with her family. She often took her nieces and nephew on day trips to Philadelphia, various historic sites, and interesting places and events in the area.
She was outgoing, friendly, sociable, compassionate, and hospitable. She was always one of the first people to greet visitors at church, go above and beyond at her job, and explain to her supermarket customers how they saved money and were able to earn discounts and free items with their store points. Those who met her remember the warmth and love she shared and made everyone feel comfortable and accepted.
In addition to her husband, Will, she is survived by her two brothers, Lowell M. Reiff & wife Mary Ann and Dr. Dennis B. Reiff & wife Anna Mary both of Lansdale, PA; Also survived by six nieces, Lindsay, Bethany, Jamie, Leah, Janna and Chelsea, and a nephew, Mark, along with their spouses and children.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday April 11th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Towamencin Mennonite Church, 1980 Sumneytown Pike, Kulpsville, PA 19443
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 11:00 am at Towamencin Mennonite Church, address above.
