Wayne H. Althouse , 82, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Harleysville, PA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Grand View Hospital.

He was the loving husband of the late Janice (Kratz) Althouse for 53 years. Wayne was born in Doylestown, PA to the late Wilmer B. Althouse and the late Martha (Histand) Althouse.

He graduated from Central Bucks High School, class of 1956. Wayne served with I-W Service in New Jersey. He then worked as a carpenter for the former Glenn E. Garis, Inc. in Souderton, in Delivery and Sales for Rosenberger Dairies in Hatfield, PA for more than 40 years, and as a salesman in the hardware department for the former Estate of George S Snyder, Inc in Hatfield.

Wayne then worked as a tool maintenance and repairman for George's Tool Rental in Danboro and later for George's Tool Rental in Hatfield. After retiring, he worked part-time for Landis Supermarket in Telford and as a caretaker of Doylestown Mennonite Cemetery.

Wayne was a member of Souderton Brethren in Christ Church where he served in the church choir, on the church board, as a deacon, on the building committee, and one of the leaders in the Boys Brigade. From 1987-2007, he was part of the founding core group that helped plant the 'New Covenant Brethren in Christ Church' in Quakertown.

Wayne was also a member of the Souderton - Harleysville Game, Fish and Forestry Association in Tylersport, PA, a member of Great Swamp Fish & Game Association in Quakertown, PA, a member of The Souderton Alumni Men's Chorus, and a member of Franconia-Lancaster Choral Singers.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, yard work, mowing the lawn, and chopping wood. Wayne was an avid reader of the Bible and Guideposts. He loved going to the mountains with his family and friends. Wayne also enjoyed bowling, softball, and fast pitch softball. He also loved listening to Gospel music.

Wayne was a hardworking, dedicated, man who had a servant's heart and was always willing to help others.

He is survived by his three children, Lori D. Cassel & husband, Michael, Steven W. Althouse & wife, Daneé of Lansdale, PA Kristin N. Godshall & husband, Steven of Souderton, PA; his seven grandchildren – Jenna Franco & husband, Jose 'Pepe' of Dallas, TX, Kaitlin Wilks & husband, Kevin of Dallas, TX, Denali Althouse of Lansdale, PA, Micah Godshall & fiancé, Karlie McCreary of Souderton, PA, Ben Cassel of Telford, PA, Jessica Godshall & fiancé, Vaughn Atkinson of Souderton, PA, Rebecca Godshall of Souderton, PA; his two great-granddaughters – Hadassah "Haddie" Wilks of Dallas, TX & Shiloh Wilks of Dallas, TX; and his sister, Marie Stoltzfus & husband, Victor of Goshen, IN.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas J. Althouse; his brother, Vernon Althouse; and his sister, Helen Rutt.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Hopewell Christian Fellowship, 601 Hunsicker Road, Telford, PA 18969, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 pm.
