Obituary

Willard "Will" G. Grasse , 93, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Chalfont, PA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Souderton Mennonite Homes.

Will was the loving husband of Gladys L. (Rosenberger) Grasse for 65 years. He was born in Hilltown Twp, PA to the late Anthony M. Grasse and the late Lillian (Landis) Grasse.

Will graduated from Hilltown High School in Blooming Glen, PA, class of 1949. He attended Goshen College in Goshen, IN for 1 year.

Will worked as an assembler for the former I.G. Rosenberger (now known as Little's) in Silverdale, PA for 2 years. He then served in the I-W (1-W) service in Greystone, NJ for 2 years. Will worked in the plumbing and heating department for Norman G. Good Inc. Plumbing & Heating in Souderton, PA for 15 years. He was then employed as a pipe fitter foreman for Roger's Mechanical Company in Fairview Village, PA for 29 years.

Will was a lifetime member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church where he served as a former usher and trustee. He was a volunteer with Norman Good's service team on many occasions, helping at Spruce Lake Retreat, developing the Wilderness Camp and helping with the Mennonite Church plant in Bridgewater, VT.

Will enjoyed hunting, traveling, boating, deep sea / tuna fishing, raking clams, gardening, ornamental and nut trees, and a hobby taxidermist. He was always fixing things, doing home improvement, and was an incredibly skilled jack of all trades. He loved being in the outdoors and enjoyed bird watching.

Will loved keeping in touch with his out of state family which was very important to him. He also loved sharing and teaching his knowledge of many various skills with others. He always had time to strike up and enjoyed a conversation and sharing stories with friends and strangers. He lived his life with a strong work ethic.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 3 children, two sons, Rodney B. Grasse & wife, Luanne of Chalfont, PA, James M. Grasse & wife, Lisa of Chalfont, PA; and his daughter, JoAnn G. Moyer & husband, Michael T. of Chalfont, PA; his nine grandchildren – Michelle, Randall, Rebecca, Thomas, Erica, Zachary, Brian, Darren, & Issac; and his 11 great-grandchildren – Henry, Hannah, Clayton, Josiah, Weston, Owen, Arlo, Noa, Claire, Everly, & Cole.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers,  Dr.Meryl, John, Alvin, & Warren Grasse.

A viewing will ONLY be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road Blooming Glen, PA 18911.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 am at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road Blooming Glen, PA 18911, followed by an informal visitation. The service will be livestreamed at: https://youtube.com/live/uLDIvLO1E98.

A private burial will take place at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church Cemetery.
