Obituary

Willard Robert "Bob" Hartman , 80, of Hatfield, PA; formerly of Souderton, PA passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Gwynedd Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

He was the loving husband of Jeanette V. (Bast) Hartman for 55 years. Willard was born in Sellersville, PA to the late Willard E. Hartman and the late Hester (Crouthamel) Hartman.

He graduated from Souderton Area High School, class of 1960. Willard was employed as a service technician for the former Reese Corporation in Philadelphia, PA for 20 years. He also worked part-time as a police officer for the Souderton Borough. Willard then worked as Mech Tech for Ford Electronics in Lansdale, PA and also worked part-time as a police officer for the Hatfield Borough. He worked as a parts deliveryman for Bergey's Ford in Ambler, PA and then as a sales clerk for Ace Hardware in Lansdale, PA.

Willard was a volunteer fire fighter for the Souderton Fire Department and the Hatfield Fire Department. He also volunteered with the Souderton Ambulance Association. Willard was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1539 in Sellersville, PA and a member of the North Penn Gun Club in Quakertown, PA. He was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ.

Willard loved fixing and restoring cars and motorcycles in his garage. In his younger years, he enjoyed raced cars and motorcycles. Willard loved his old trucks especially his 1936 & 1950 Ford Pickup Trucks. One of his favorite pastimes was roller skating with his wife in Southampton and this is where they met for the first time.

Willard was a hardworking, independent man who was very sociable and loved to talk about his projects.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Louise McDermott & husband, Randy of VA.
